The position of Precinct Committeeman or Precinct Committeewoman is one of those truly critical positions within our political system; it is the Precinct Committeepersons, the party's Central Committee, who will be called upon in an important situation to make important decisions (see the referenced Word document). Day-to-day, the Precinct Committeeperson's charter is to know their neighbors and persons within their area of responsibility (precinct). They are encouraged to offer tactical and strategic assistance to voters, candidates, and elected officials within their area of responsibility. They are a critical member of the Laramie County GOP (LCGOP) Central Committee; they are expected to attend and participate in the regularly scheduled meetings to include Central Committee meetings, County Convention, and other meetings as scheduled by the County Chairman.
The Precinct Committeeperson is in a position of trust that carries with it many duties and responsibilities. It is a position that requires frequent, pro-active actions and self sacrifice, however, it is a position that also offers an opportunity for an individual to make a difference within their community.
